Itanagar: Two ULFA (I) cadres have been reportedly nabbed at Namdapha National Park in Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh for allegedly entering in the latter’s territory, the sources said.

As per reports, one of them is identified as Tiger Asom alias Bagh Phukan, who is a close aide of the outfit’s Chief Paresh Baruah. He is part of the three different teams of ULFA (I) which are conducting extortion activities currently on the Indian side. As per sources, he is known to operate in the area of Miao – Vijaynagar Road which is under the control of NSCN (IM) & NSCN (K).

It reported that NSCN (IM) may not harm the cadres, but are likely to seize their weapons, money and the like. Besides this, they are also seeking the guarantee that in the near future no ULFA (I) cadres will enter their area.

It may be mentioned that Paresh Barua is in good terms with Sr. Leader of NSCN (IM) Col. Hangshi, reportedly based in China around the same area as that of Baruah.

But the incident might come as a setback to ULFA (I) as it could also be exploited to create a rift amongst various the outfits.
