DAWKI LAKE

Dawki lake is considered to be the cleanest water body. To reach the place, leave early from Shillong so that you could avoid getting stuck in the traffic. It would take around 2-3 hours to reach Dawki from Shillong. Enjoy the boat ride here, soak in the beauty of the place. We would highly recommend spending your day here and Shnongpdeng, which is near to Dawki lake. You could pay a visit to Bangladesh border only if you want to see the border area.

SOHRA

Sohra used to be known as Cherrapunji for almost a century, right from the British Colonial era. The small town located in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya  received maximum rainfall in the world until the nearby place of Mawsynram emerged as the rainiest place on earth.

The distance from Shillong to Sohra is about 56 km, and it takes around 2 hours reach this beautiful adobe. Moreover, early morning ride to this place would turn off the chaos of your life, and your lungs would thank you for sure!

100 DRUM FESTIVAL, TURA

The 100 Drum Festival is one of the most awaited festivals of Meghalaya. To witness the festival people from all over the world fly down to this beautiful place. This year, it took place at the scenic Asananggre. People from different parts of the state participate in the festival. This year various groups from North Garo Hills, Shillong College, Shillong, Tura Government College participated in the same.

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL, SHILLONG

A glimpse of beautiful Shillong during the season!

India’s answer to the Cherry Blossom Festival of Japan or USA is the Cherry Blossom Festival of Shillong. This year, it was celebrated between 8-11 November in Shillong. So if you want to witness the beauty of nature, along with the feast of music, rock concerts, amidst the aroma of local cuisine, mark your dates to visit the festival next year!
