Himachal Pradesh: Jairam Thakur to Swear in as the new CM

Jairam Thakur of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to take oath as the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

It is expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Amit Shah, former deputy Prime Minister LK Advani and several Union ministers and chief ministers are going to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Jairam Thakur. The Oath Ceremony would take place at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla at 11 AM.

 After the BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate of BJP lost from his constituency, the five-time BJP MLA from Seraj constituency of Himachal was elected to lead the state. It must be mentioned that the BJP has out-powered the Congress in Himachal Pradesh by winning 44 out of the 68 seats in the recently held Assembly polls. It is expected that thousands of people would gather to witness the swearing-in ceremony along with the many senior leaders and workers of BJP state unit.

The BJP is making a history, as for the very first time a Prime Minister is going to attend the oath ceremony of Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

 

The Himachal Police have taken the massive security and other arrangements into account ahead of the grand function. Along with the ace seating arrangements, the administration has installed eight to ten LED screens outside the venue to make people witness the ceremony seamlessly. SPG will be looking after the security arrangements.

The arrangements for the oath ceremony have been reviewed by the Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Incharge for Party Affairs Mangal Pandey have reviewed the arrangements in Rigde Maidan.
