Dimapur: Again, a bomb Explosion has come to the light where least three jawans of the 15 Assam Rifles have been injured in a bomb explosion on yesterday.
According to the reports, The blast has taken place when the patrolling party came across an improvised explosive device (IED) has been triggered by suspected NSCN(K) cadres near the International Trade Centre (ITC) Dan, Pangsha area under Noklak sub-division of Tuensang district.
NSCN (K) Cadres come across from Myanmar
Some sources also confirmed that the IED went off when the 15 AR jawans were on routine patrol duty along the international border. AR sources alleged that cadres of the NSCN (K) had come across from Myanmar and planted the bomb to attack the security forces. In the explosion, one of the jawans has been critically injured while the other two sustained minor injuries.
According to a police officer Tuensang Vikram Ezung, the incident has taken the place at around 2:30 p.m. at Pangsha. The Officer further said that one AR jawan has been critically injured and airlifted by chopper to Rangapahar military hospital, Dimapur. The ground report was awaited since a police team led by OC was deputed to the interior area, Officer added.
However, Assam Rifles officials said that the area has been cordoned off and a combing operation is on. More updates are awaited.
