Manipur: CM announces projects of 300 Crores for various districts
- CM visited Churachandpur district of the state
- Sent proposals for various developmental projects amounting to Rs 386 crores
On a state visit to Churachandpur district of the state, CM Biren Singh announced various projects of Rs 300 Crore for Churachandpur and Pherawl districts.
The CM’s visit was highly anticipated and the residents of the district gave a grand civic reception to him at Hiangtam Lamka public ground.

The CM said that the state government had also sent proposals for various developmental projects amounting to Rs 386 crores to the Central Government for the district.
Talking about the action plan of the government, he said that the government’s next focus would be bringing egalitarian development in all parts of the state.
Expressing his government’s full support to the demand for opening of a hill campus of Manipur University at Churachandpur, the Chief Minister assured to pursue the matter with Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar. He said he had already thoroughly discussed the initiative with the vice-chancellor of the varsity as well.

The road construction works would be commenced after the rainy season, the Chief Minister said that the state government had sent a DPR worth Rs 58 crore to NLCPR for the construction of Henglep road.
The Chief Minister further said that staff quarters of government employees would be constructed in all the hill districts soon. He also said that five high mast lights would be installed at various pockets of Churachandpur district headquarters soon.
He stated that Rs 35 crore had been earmarked in the budget for the StartUp project for the benefit of youths of the state.
Earlier, different communities of the district welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting their traditional dances.
