The Manipur for the one more time is facing an insurgency in the state. A fresh encounter is going on between the terror groups and the Assam Rifle Soldiers. In the encounter, one terrorist has been gunned down by the force and two jawans have lost their lives too.
Search operation was launched
The 4 Assam Rifle has launched a search operation in the early hours today to check any intruding done by the terrorists in the state.
During this operation, some terrorists hid in the Chandel Sajik Tampak attacked the force and a heavy fire was experienced from the opposite side.
The force taking the charge acted and fired back to the terrorists and during this one terrorist gunned down by the security forces.
In the encounter, the force has lost two of its jawans and the encounter is still underway.
During the search of the terrorist killed in the encounter, forces found one AK-47 and two unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices(IED).
A search operation by 4 Assam Rifles (28 Sector) was launched earlier in the day, where armed terrorists ambushed the Regiment at Chamoli Top at around 05:30 am.
This is the search operation done after an Improvised Explosive Device was blasted near the camp of the Assam Rifles on Monday.
The attack took place in the morning hours when the troops were patrolling in order to avoid any intruding in the state.
As per the sources, the militants involved in the act planted the IED explosives near 18 Assam Rifles campus at Chandel town in Chandel district.
Later the blast, helicopters and back up have been called in to evacuate the area and to check any presence of more such elements.
The Jawans who lost their lives in this blast was, riflemen Indra Singh and Sohan Lan and seven others were severely injured during the blast.
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister N Biren Singh pays tribute to the martyrs of the blast during the wreath-laying ceremony in the state.
