Mizoram: Government Offices Staff Go on Mass Leave

The government employees of Mizoram revoked coming to the government offices and hence functioning of the Mizoram government came to a complete halt on Wednesday. The government employees are demanding for immediate implementation of the seventh central pay commission recommendations. The government staffs of Mizoram have availed a three-day mass casual leave which began on Wednesday.

As per the reports news agency PTI, all the government offices in Mizoram including the main civil secretariat got no sign of government staffs in them. The ministers could not attend offices because the employees in their respective personal branches were not available.

The Finance Minister of Mizoram, Lalsawta said that the government was willing to implement the seventh pay panel recommendations but the dates were not decided yet.

Lalsatwa called the agitation unfortunate which has been spearheaded by the Federation of Mizoram Government Employees and Workers (FMGE and W). Lalsawta further added that the state government had been waiting for the report and recommendation of the Pay Implementation Committee which is being headed by the former Finance Minister and H Liansailova, the current Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board.

 The leaders of FMGE and W  accused the state government of delaying the implementation of the central pay panel recommendations by constituting the committee, deliberately.
