Nagaland is one of the Northeastern states that is going to have Assembly Elections for the 60 seats in the state. For this, the rival party factions of Naga People’s Front(NPF) is reuniting once again and the candidate for the CM’s post from the party will be incumbent CM TR Zeliang.

 Shurhozelie will lead the party as President 

The Naga People’s Front(NPF) of Nagaland is reuniting once again ahead of Assembly Elections and the party has decided that the incumbent Chief Minister TR Zeliang will be the face for the NPF for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

The party chief Shurhozelie will be leading the party as the President and will look after all the matters within the party itself.

The Naga People’s Front(NPF) that was divided into two factions was facing a severe political tussle as both the rival parts were against the ideologies of each other and now both the factions are planning to reunite and contest the upcoming polls as one political party.

The NPF on Monday has decided to go to the 2018 State Assembly Elections under the Leadership of  Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, President of the NPF Party and T.R Zeliang, as the Chief Ministerial candidate if at all election is to be conducted.

This resolution was adopted at the NPF Legislature Party meeting held on Monday at State Banquet Hall Kohima where the prevailing political situations in the state were discussed.

The NPF urged upon all DAN Party Members to co-operate and work in unison for successful return in the 2018 State Assembly Elections.

“The party further reaffirmed confidence and trust in the leadership of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and Chief Minister TR. Zeliang while resolving to stand solidly behind the two leaders as they lead the NPF Party and DAN Government forward”, a release from the Chief Minister Office stated.
