President Kovind to Visit Northeastern States

President Ram Nath Kovind will be on a visit of Northeast. The president is going to visit Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur from November 19 to 22. This is going to be his maiden visit to the Northeast after becoming the president of India. Kovind will be on a four-day visit. The president’s consent to visit Northeast for a farewell function on completion of 40 years of Vivekananda Kendra, Itanagar on November 19 at 11.30am.

PRESIDENT WILL DEDICATE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY BUILDING

President Kovind will be formally dedicating a newly built State Legislative Assembly to the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Also, the president will address the Legislators at a special session of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly at Itanagar.

The following day, President has the schedule to attend the closing ceremony of Namami Barak Festival at Silchar in Assam. The closing ceremony will commence at 2 pm which would be followed by the public reception at Guwahati University.

After the completion of Arunachal visit, the President will begin his Manipur visit. the visit would be started with the inauguration of the North-East Development Summit on November 21 at 2 pm in Imphal. He will also be inaugurating the Manipur Sangai Festival in Imphal. As per the official sources, the President will be visiting Indian National Army War Memorial at Moirang on November 22. As per the statement issued by Press Information Bureau said on Wednesday, after the visit at Moirang, the president would leave for New Delhi on the same day.
