Tripura is on the verge of Legislative Assembly Elections and the state is planning for polls on 60 seats. The political parties of the state are planning to gain a majority of seats in the state. BJP, keeping an eye on the upcoming polls organized a Parivartan Rally in 60 constituencies.
Parivartan Rally-a meeting for change
BJP, the opposition of CPI(M) in Tripura on Wednesday organised a ‘Parivartan rally’ (Meetin a for change) in all the 60-Assembly constituencies of the state where election is due early 2018.
“The main focus of the meetings was to expose ruling CPI-M for its misrule in the state for the last 25 years and a terror let loose by the party to eliminate the political opposition”, BJP Media in-charge Victor Shome told reporters.
“More than 1, 70,000 people attended the meeting throughout the state, which is more than expected”, Shome claimed.
“BJP must wrest power from Left Front. People would reject them for their misrule in last 25 years. BJP cannot be resisted by violence let loose by CPI-M. We must free people from the clutches of the misrule of the CPI-M party”, BJP Tripura unit president Biplab Deb said.
Adding to this Shome said, Himanta Biswa Sharma, the chairperson of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and Assam Finance minister, who was appointed as the in-charge of the election in Tripura would hold a public meeting at Dhanpur in Sipahijala district tomorrow.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is the sitting MLA from Dhanpur constituency.
He said, in last two days 37 MLAs from neighbouring Assam have arrived in the state to participate in the election campaign.
BJP blew the conch of election campaign
The Bhartiya Janta Party has blown the conch shell for the upcoming election by organizing the Parivartan Rally in the state in every constituency.
BJP has lined up rallies across the state that was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, and office-bearers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur.
The BJP is ruling in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh while Manipur has a BJP-led government. Now the party is focussing on the three poll-bound states of Northeast that are scheduled for the elections next year.
During an interaction with the media, Sunil Deodhar, BJP’s Tripura in charge made the announcement of the election campaign and said, “On December 27, we’ll start a campaign for the polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will campaign in the Tripura polls”.
All the ace leaders are scheduled to visit the state in the month of January to give away a push to the election campaigns.
The BJP has lined up rallies by central ministers in the first week of January. “We are trying for a rally either by Prime minister or Amitbhai or Yogiji in the first week of January,” Deodhar has further informed giving the details of the schedules of the veteran leaders of the state.
