Itanagar: The State BJP has come to the front with a huge statement. On Tuesday, it is said that the victory of the party in the recent by-election to Likabali and Pakke-Kessang assembly constituencies was a major blow to those forces that are trying to derail development initiatives, the party stated in a press release.
In that statement, it also stated that the victories in both the constituencies are a stamp of approval to Pema Khandu government by the people and a major blow to those forces that are trying to derail development initiatives by maliciously creating a superficial environment of instability in the state.
The victory was a result of team-work under the leadership Chief Minister Pema Khandu and State BJP President Tapir Gao, the party said that the people of Arunachal Pradesh now want development and prosperity, not regressive and divisive politics based on community, caste, creed and clan, it added.
Meanwhile, the party further said that the BJP government would endeavor to reciprocate by implementing many developmental projects under the leadership of the two newly-elected MLAs.
Pema Khandu is the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Since becoming chief minister in July 2016, he and his government have twice changed their party affiliation; in September from the Indian National Congress to the Peoples Party of Arunachal, and then in December 2016 to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
